Claire Foster

Claire Foster is an expert in medical ethics and environmental issues.  She combines authority with humour and has a passion for honest debate in topics as wide-ranging as designer babies, human guinea-pigs, euthanasia, abortion, and spiritual/practical responses to global climate change. 

Claire has had a wide experience of interviewing and panel discussions on TV and radio including the Today programme, the Longer View, Melvyn Bragg’s Not Just on Sunday, You and Yours, and local TV and radio programmes.  Claire has also made training videos and DVDs, including ethics for engineers, and the morality of assisted suicide.  She regularly gives talks to large and small audiences ranging from bishops to schoolchildren.  She has written books, columns and articles including The Ethics of Medical Research on Humans and Sharing God’s Planet
 
Claire trained in theology at Oxford University and medical ethics at King’s College, London.  She has six years’ experience as policy adviser and spokeswoman for the Church of England in science, medicine, technology and environmental issues, and has her own consultancies: ‘The Ethical Dimension’ and ‘The Environmental Dimension’.
